The first call is free. Where the permit type has to be determined first, that is a EUR 100 consultation, and it is deducted from your fee if you go ahead.

It depends on the permit type. The authority’s statutory deadlines are 70 days for a residence permit for employment, the Hungarian Card and an intra-corporate transfer, 70 to 90 days for the EU Blue Card, and 21 days for the National Card and for family reunification. Gathering documents and certified translations adds one to three weeks before anything is filed.
Those deadlines measure less than they look: time spent supplying missing documents, and any period in which a case is suspended, is not counted towards them, which is why a 21-day permit routinely takes longer in practice — almost everything is solvable with enough time, and very little without it. It starts with a call, at no charge: tell us what you need, and we will tell you whether we can help. From there it goes one of two ways. If your case is clear, you get a fixed price for it straight away.
If it is not yet clear which permit applies to you, that is the part that takes real expertise — choosing the right permit type decides everything that follows, and it is where most of the work in this profession actually sits. That determination is a paid consultation. Once it is done, you get a price for your specific case before anything starts. Government fees, certified translations and similar third-party costs are passed on at cost.
Both — and the two look different in practice. Corporate relocation usually arrives as a group: a renewal wave, a set of new hires, a deadline someone else set. Individuals arrive with one situation and a lot riding on it.
The same small team handles both. That is deliberate: it is why a company gets a named person rather than a service desk, and why an individual gets the same expertise a multinational pays for.

What changed in 2026
Immigration rules in Hungary do not change quietly — they change on a date, and from that date the old answer is simply wrong.
1 January 2026
EU Blue Card salary thresholds rose.
The higher figure applies at renewal too, not only to new hires. A salary that qualified last year may not qualify at the next extension. The 2026 figures, and where they come from →
6 June 2026
New guest worker permits ended.
Permits already issued run to their own expiry date, and holders can still apply to extend them or have the permit reissued. The residence permit for guest workers still exists in law, but the government has designated no eligible countries, so no new application can be filed.
If either of these touches someone in your team, it is better to know now than at the deadline.
